"Changing our world through the love of Christ."
"Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world, indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
- Margaret Mead
Bethany Church offers Pastoral care Services to our members and others in need. Our Pastoral Care Team includes our Deacons and devoted members of our Church. Some of the services of the Pastoral Care Team include the following:
Every week the flowers used in Sunday service are delivered to people in need. People that receive them include those in hospitals and nursing homes and those sick at home. A flower delivery list is maintained in the Church office. If anyone in the congregation knows someone who might be cheered up by a flower delivery, or someone who may need a lift - contact the church office during the week or speak to the greeters on Sunday morning to make arrangements.
"Homebound Worship" is a group led by the Pastors and Deacons of Bethany Church who visit two Quincy nursing homes once every month to provide fellowship, worship and prayer. An entire service is provided including music by our own Win and Jean Bettinson and is open to anyone who wants to participate. It's a tremendous opportunity to share fellowship and offer comfort.
Visits include Eventide(10:30 AM) on the last Thursday of each month, Quincy Nursing and Rehabilitation (10:00AM) on the first Tuesday of each month. The visit dates are noted in the calendar so members with family in the homes can get them to the service.
Bethany Churchwomen, under the direction of Betty Elias, send cards to congregation members for a variety of events and occasions including get-well cards, sympathy cards, new baby congratulations, birthdays and more.

The Pastors of the Church extend home communion several times a year for shut-ins and people who can't get to church. A regular list is maintained of people who are included. To receive home communion, or if you know of someone who is in need of receiving Communion at home, please contact the church office.
The Bethany Churchwomen have been busy knitting prayer shawls which are given out by the Deacons to people in real need. Contact Carol DeMeritt if you know someone who might benefit from a prayer shawl.
If you would like to be involved, you are invited to join the Knitting Group.
